We recommend doing the following when caring for your soy candle in order to maximize its quality, safety, and lifespan:
• Remember to always cut your wick to 1/4′′ above the wax before lighting it—and we mean it! This keeps the wick from burning at higher temperatures, which could result in soot or smoke on the glass or particle buildup inside the candle that could catch fire.
• To ensure that your wax is free of debris, never leave the cut wick or any other particulates in your candle.
• Always burn your candle on a proper surface, and keep the area beneath it safe.
• When there is just 1/2′′ of wax left in the bottom, extinguish your candle. If you decide to keep burning a low-wax candle, the heat will go to the glass rather than the wax, which could be hazardous.
• A candle should not be burned for longer than four hours at a time. Prolonged burning turns the wax fully liquid, which moves the wick around.
